Pat and I served as colleagues in Township Government as Supervisors. I was close to Belvidere Township as a friend to Bob Turner and Bob Falkenstein and Pat was always gracious to include me in any festivities. It was my honor to nominate Pat to the Township Supervisors of Illinois Board and a privilege to serve with him. He had a sense of humor and also knew when to get to work and I admired him for that. I will miss him greatly and so will the other members of the TSI Board. Another good life cut too short! Gene Dawson, Barrington Township Supervisor emeritus.

To Pat's Family, I shared that our community has an broken heart right now. But it certainly cannot compare to the pain you all feel. My husband and I have and will continue to pray for your broken hearts. Pat was loved by so many people. He was a true friend to those privileged to be one. I believe I was one of those. He never failed to thank me for anything I did for our community, whatever or whatever it was. And he repeated it. He had a way to make you feel tall and confident. I believe he would have done just about anything for my husband and I if we had asked. When working on a committee with him, he often drove me nuts, and I would tell him just that. But he knew he held a special place in many hearts, including mine. He was another big brother; you loved him but you wanted to slug him all at the same time. He just had that way about him. We often shared warm stories of our moms. He knew mine and I knew his. They both passed within a year of each other and I think that's what made our friendship as special as it was. He will be dearly, dearly missed. God bring each of you His comfort.
