Post a Condolence

Bob was a classmate at BHS, and came to our reunions. Also, I would see him out at Coop’s, when they had the car shows! Always had a smile!
May he rest in peace.

My condolences to all those in Bob’s family. Bob was one of the sweetest guys I have known. He was always willing to lend a hand, I can remember one cold winter night when he drove out to my place to help me with the pilot light on my furnace. I enjoyed attending Belvidere and NIU basketball games with him. May he Rest In Peace.

First of all, my sympathy goes out to Rita , Bill and family. I have known Bob since my first years of teaching in Belvidere after meeting him on his bike. After that he became known to me and others as ‘biker Bob’. Bob always supported my teams attending all the games cheering on the Bucs to victory. He was always a good friend to my family and we have always kept in touch even after I moved to Arizona. I will always treasure his friendship, kindness and generosity. Rest in peace my friend…

I’m sending my personal condolences to your family. Bob was always Biker Bob to me first as a Belvidere Buc and an NIU Huskie fan, and then over the years as a dear friend. I loved our phone conversations, his stories of biking and antique cars, and most of all the stories of the people he cared about. His laughter and generosity enriched my life…I pray comfort and blessings on your family now and always. -Leslie Pottinger Davies

I knew Bob from biking. He was always known to me as “Biker Bob”. Bob was super thoughtful and always called to check on how things were going. Each year he would drop off corn on the cob for me and the kids. He always sent goofy birthday cards each year too. He laughed easily and had a super kind heart. He was fun to talk with. I’ll miss chatting on the phone with Bob. My condolences.

Our heartfelt sympathy to the family of Bob Carter; we are so sorry to learn of his passing. Bob was a best friend in high school and during the years of service in Viet Nam, with our brother, Ted Newman, who passed in 1972. Bob remained friends with our whole family, including cousins, and aunts & uncles, for the rest of his life. He helped our parents move into their retirement home in California, sent cards, and made phone calls, and he cared for Ted’s gravesite in the Belvidere Cemetery, with flowers and flags, long after our family moved away from Belvidere. We appreciated his kindness and big heart in helping others, and we will miss him a lot. He will always be remembered and loved by our family.

Our sincere sympathies. We will miss Bob – even though we haven’t seen him this past covid year we always spent time with him during our annual visit to Belvedere. Bob was Best Man at our wedding on July 14, 1973 and a dear friend of Russell’s during their teenage years and while they served in Vietnam – after they got out of the service there were a lot of trips to Frank and Mikes! Good times! Bob was one of the brightest and kindest people we’ve known and loved- May he Rest In Peace.
We hope his ending was peaceful!

Sorry, to hear about your loss. What has helped me, I get comfort from the scriptures in the Bible. John 5:28,29 “ The hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice. Those who did good things to a resurrection of life, and those who practiced vile things to a resurrection of judgment.” And Rev.21:4 “ He will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more.” If you would like to know more, go to http://www.jw.org.

Bill, Rita and family,

I’m sorry to hear of Bob’s passing. We always spent time catching up at Dave Love’s end of summer bonfire as I’d planned on again this year. Bob was a truly good person, always willing to help even if it was just his personal insight. I’ll miss him………..as we all will.
