Robert Carlton LeVoy, 77, of Belvidere passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 30, 2016. Robert was born November 23, 1938 in Belvidere, son of Frank and Agnes (Tangman) LeVoy. He married Carol Hamblock on May 19, 1959 in Ft. Madison, Iowa.
He proudly served our country in the United States Air Force from 1956 to 1960. For more than 45 years Robert was an over the road truck driver and retired from Belvedere Company. He loved playing solitaire, had a passion for solving puzzles, coin collecting, wood working, and loved spending winters in Texas. He will be best remembered for his strong work ethic and that he never wasted time complaining about anything. He was proud of his country and instilled in his children the value of working hard.
He is loved, cherished, and will be missed by his wife, Carol; children, Johanna (Charles) Hendrickson, Curtis LeVoy, and Jerre (Valerie) LeVoy; grandchildren, Ashley (David) Dirks, Nicholas (Jenny) LeVoy, Jerad LeVoy, Brandon LeVoy, Stephanie LeVoy, Jacob Hendrickson, Caitlin Hendrickson, Luke Hendrickson, Teryn Dallo, Sam LeVoy, and Kory LeVoy; eight great grandchildren; and sister, Yvonne (Robert) Larson.
He is preceded in death by his parents; grandchildren, Joseph and Garrett Hendrickson; and sister, Audrey LeVoy.
Funeral service for Robert will be held Friday, November 4, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Anderson Funeral & Cremation Services, 218 W. Hurlbut, Avenue, Belvidere, Rev. Dan Schenck, officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM until 10:45 AM at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Belvidere Cemetery. Memorials can be made to the family.
