Obituary
Patricia Lou Van Landschoot, 75, of Machesney Park, IL, passed away peacefully early Sunday morning, July 24, 2022, in her home surrounded by her family. She was born September 26, 1946, the daughter of Wilmer and Lorraine (Bialas) Baier.
After high school, Pat attended cosmetology school and worked alongside her husband at Sir Richards Family Hair Care for 38 years. Pat and Richard were married on October 10, 1964, and together had two beautiful daughters. Pat found her spiritual home at Immanuel Lutheran Church. She enjoyed traveling with her husband and had covered all 50 states, along with various other countries, including going as far as Australia. Pat loved spending time with her grandchildren, as well as doing crossword and jigsaw puzzles. One of her favorite pastimes was to take bike rides on the Long Prairie Trail, tracking her mileage each year to make sure she rode more than the previous year. Pat also maintained an extensive network of friends and was always attending various lunch and dinner groups. She also had an extraordinarily quick wit and wonderful sense of humor and was always the life of the party.
Pat is loved and will be missed deeply by her mom, Lorraine Hetland; her daughters, Monica (Scott) James, Tamara (Darren) Huys; her grandchildren, Nicholas (Mariana) James, Alyssa (Palmer) Madson, Calvin Huys, Calista Huys; and her siblings, Robert (Mary) Baier, Jana (Roland) Crandall, Randall (Nita) Baier, Scott (Tammy) Baier.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard Van Landschoot; and her father, Wilmer Baier.
Patricia’s visitation will take place on Saturday, July 30, 2022, at 9:00 A.M. until 10:30 A.M., at Immanuel Lutheran Church, located at 1045 Belvidere Rd., Belvidere, IL 61008. Funeral service will take place in the church sanctuary immediately following. Burial to follow at Scottish Argyle Cemetery, located at 8901 Picken Rd, Caledonia, IL 61011. Memorials in her honor to be given to the family to establish Pat’s wish of a permanent bench in her memory to be built alongside her favorite bike path, “Long Prairie Trail”.
