Larry Stensven, 61, of Belvidere, IL passed away following a lengthy illness on July 1, 2016 in Belvidere. He was born on November 8, 1954, the son of Lester and Jean (Stevens) Stensven. Larry married Valerie (Kirk) Stensven on September 15, 2000. Larry was a veteran of the Navy and proudly served our country during the Vietnam War. He was retired from Chrysler FCA with 31 years of service, acting as Union Steward of UAW local 1268. He was a devoted Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers fan and loved the Wisconsin Badgers. He had a true passion for sports. He claimed to be the Clines Ford Pinochle Champion.
Larry is well loved and will be missed by his wife, Valerie and son, Micheal Kirk; brothers, Terry (Eloise) and Randy (Vicky) Stensven; sisters, Roxanne (Larry) Maurer and Connie Christenson; special nephew, Stacy (Kim) Christenson and many other nieces and nephews; father and mother-in-law, Joseph and Dixie Kirk; sister-in-law, Kerri (Jeff) Thiede, brother-in-law, Jim (Julie) Kirk; and special furry friends, Player and Kitty. He is preceded in death by his parents; Lester and Jean.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services, 218 W. Hurlbut Ave., Belvidere, IL. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, July 7, 2016 at Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services. Burial in Highland Garden of Memories.
