Dear Millie,

So sorry for your loss. I have great memories of first meeting Dave at the City of Elgin when we were the “auditors”. What a great man to work with!
And then other church finance projects in later years. A talented hard working and kind man.
May God’s comfort and nearness be felt.

Dear Mildred (Sonny), and Family,
Our sincere condolences to you on your loss. I (Wes), knew Dave as a fun-loving kid in the neighborhood as well as being a teammate in athletics at Abbott JHS as well as at EHS. Jean, also knew Dave all through grade school as well as Jr. & Sr H.S.. She, being a cheerleader also knew him from that experience. Dave was a good teammate and a committed athlete. It was especially good to know of his commitment to Jesus as Lord and Savior and his desire to share that with his classmates, which he did at class reunions. Jean, wishes you, Sonny, the Lord’s Peace at this difficut time.

I offer my deepest sympathy to Dave’s family. Dave was the consummate gentleman and professional. I had the privilege of getting to know Dave through the Illinois Government Finance Officers Association and by following him as the Village of Mount Prospect’s Finance Director. Through these contacts I gained an appreciation for much of what Dave was: a fantastic human being and a kind soul. Dave will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

As a peer, I knew Dave for many years. It was long ago, but the last time I saw him was at his retirement party in Mount Prospect. We worked on committees in the IGFOA. I always had a great respect for him, for his honesty and integrity. What I remember most was his bright smile. He always smiled and spoke softly. He was a great guy and will be missed by all who knew him. My sympathy and prayers to his family.

I knew Dave as a member of IGFOA. The words that best describe Dave were respect, integrity, supportive and kind. The Dave I knew displayed a courage to uphold biblical standards in his life. I was fortune to know him.

My deep condolences to Mildred and the Jepson family on the loss of Dave. I was fortunate to get to know him as a fellow finance director. I was fortunate to take over his position when he retired from Mt. Prospect. He left the Village and Finance Department in amazing shape. He was a dedicated professional and had a wonderful personality,

I had the distinct honor and pleasure to be on the Illinois Government Finance Officers Association Board of Directors at the same time as Dave. I always found him to be extremely knowledgeable in his craft and to be genuinely nice.
My sincere condolences to the Jepson family on your loss.

Dave was a great guy. I worked with him on committees and audits for many years. We had some fun times at GFOA social/business events. He wasn’t a golfer (neither was I) but he played when he ran the GFOA golf outing . With both of us in the same foursome, it wasn’t pretty but we enjoyed it. Most importantly, as the photos attest, he had a great family life and was loved by all.

Dave will be missed.

Wonderful Christian man, and he thanked the Lord daily for his salvation. He liked to listen to George Beverly Shae before going to bed at night, also Softly & Tenderly by Alan Jackson.
He was so proud of his children and grand children., and Sunny was his Queen. I know you are in the presence of Jesus and we will see you there someday. t was a great to have you in my life for a short time, you were a good employer and friend. Loraine

Two years ago Lois and I were able to visit with Dave and Sunny at their home in Cherry Valley. We have not lived close over the years. But, when we came back to Illinois for a few years, we were able to reconnect with Dave and Sonny. Dave and Sonny showed their hospitality by serving us a great lunch while we were able to catch up on all of our lives. We discussed our faith with Dave and Sonny, he was a great encourager. He is a good man and we will always remember him for his faith and what he stood for. We just want to send our condolences to all of the family but we know that he is now with his savior in heaven and now it’s all worth it. I’m sure that he heard you were a good and and faithful servant and was greeted by the the loved ones who have passed on before him. We also look forward to seeing him again for we know this time we spend on earth is just for a season and for those in Christ, this not our home.
