Yesterday I was at Target and happened to walk down the aisle with colored pencils and crayons. I stood there looking at all of the choices and my mind instantly went from not thinking about much of anything to thinking of endless possibilities. I grabbed Crayola’s box of 64 colors and put them in my cart. I didn’t have a plan for them, but I knew that I needed to bring them home with me. There’s something about a box of 64 colors that has the ability to transport me back to my childhood. A box of 64 colors is filled with so much possibility and magic.
Why do you suppose that a simple box of crayons can strike such a creative desire in a person?
God has created everyone, including you, with the desire to create. He crafted you in His own image, which means that He has hard-wired into you some of His characteristics. God is the Creator of all things; He is THE CREATOR and he wired you to be creative also.
Haven’t you known, haven’t you heard
(Isaiah 40:28)
that the everlasting God, the Lord,
the Creator of the ends of the earth,
does not grow tired or weary?
His understanding cannot be fathomed.
The definition of a Creator is a person or thing that brings something into existence. People create all kinds of things; however, they always use preexisting materials. The physical elements that they use are not their own creation. Even their intellect is not truly their own, but God-given intellect.
God had no raw materials to work with. He is the Creator; He is truly creative all by Himself.
The next time you feel the urge to be creative, tell God thank you for creating you in His image and hard-wiring you with the desire and ability to create.

Just in case you have a Box of 64 here’s a coloring page for you to let your creativeness flow onto.
Shalom
