Obituary

Belvidere, IL

Virginia “Jinny” Worrell, 84, of Belvidere went home to be with Jesus on April 29, 2015 after a short but relatively comfortable time with a loving Heartland Hospice team, and surrounded by family at Bickford Assisted Living in Rockford, IL  She was born May 22, 1930 to David and Helen (Johannsen) Brown in Caledonia, IL.  She married Everett Worrell on September 8, 1951 in Belvidere.

They have been mightily blessed by four children, nine grand-daughters, 17 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. She was a faithful sister of Christ first, a loving wife of 64 years, and an inspiration to all of her family and extended family everywhere she went and served.

She grew up in 4-H, and was strong supporter of the Boy Scouts of America, the Girl Scouts and many Christian endeavors.  She was a quilter, swimmer at the YMCA, and loved to garden, repair clothes for granddaughters, and most of all be a listening ear for them with prayerful advice when needed.

She is the mother of Elizabeth (Raymond) Withee and David (Joanne) Worrell; the grandmother of Rebecca (Peter) Girardin, Lydia (Steve) Riley, Naomi (Leo Gomez) Ziegler, Martha Ziegler, Margaret Worrell, Kathryn Worrell, Joanie (Jeremiah) Gee, Julie (Charlie) Brown and Joy (Nicolas) Derr.  The Great Grandmother of Isabella, Dominick and Gianna Girardin, Madelyn, Katherine and Allison Riley, Trinidad, Leland, Isaiah and Amalia Ziegler, Ashley Withee, Krystal Vieau, Elizabeth and Tristan Gee, Annika and Elaina Brown and Alexander and Addison Derr.  The Great-Great Grandmother of Kaylinn Withee and Jeffrey Vieau and she had many nieces, nephews and cousins.  Preceding her were her parents, David and Helen Brown, a brother, Gerald and son Everett Jr., and daughter, Deborah.
