Our Son, Our Brother, is gone from us.

He died before he had lived.

He died before finding his place.

He died with too few knowing him.

He died not knowing how much he’ll be missed.

We are numb with grief.

There are no words to describe our loss.

In life, we held him close; in death we hold him closer.

Ross died suddenly, Tuesday evening, July 7, 2015. He was born January 22, 1982 in Appleton, WI, son of John and Donna. He graduated from Belvidere High School in 2000, and from Bradley University in 2005. Ross worked at Entre Computers. His many interests included computers, music, the Green Bay Packers and most of all spending time with family and friends.

Ross is deeply loved and will be missed by his parents, John and Donna VanDeHey; sister, Shana (Brett) Schwanebeck; nieces and nephew, Isabella, Jaxson, Makenah; grandfather, Bill Greiner, numerous aunt, uncles, and cousins. Ross is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, and maternal grandmother.

Just got back from S Carolina and heard of Ross passing.I'm shocked and angered by our loss. It's hard to understand how a person with so much life could be gone so soon. The light in my heart has less glow today. The " Big Dog " will always run free in my "Field of Dreams " and have a place on my roster for ever.

I'm sitting here reflecting on todays memorial service for Ross. It was a great tribute to how he lived his life. I cannot even begin to know your sorrow. The sadness from such a tragedy seems overwhelming. God understands your grief and is there to bring your hearts relief. My prayer is for comfort and strength for all family and friends, especially for these toughest days ahead. Jayne

I have many great memories from growing up with Ross. Riding the school bus, being classmates and friends for many years, his great smile, and of course, playing basketball at the YMCA. I have many memories of him as the great athlete that he was. He was always a good friend, had a great heart, and kind to others. I'm so sad that he has left this earth so soon, too soon. He and your family will be in my prayers.

Ross was always the younger kid in the neighborhood that would out hit the older kids in baseball. We spent hundreds of hours playing baseball at a few different houses in Ramblin Ridge. Great memories, he will be missed so much.
