Obituary

Richard Yerk, 73, of Belvidere, IL passed away Sunday August 23, 2015 in his home, surrounded by his loving family.  Richard was born on March 12, 1942 in Belvidere, IL the son of Richard G. Yerk and Dorothy Langley. He married Marjory (Crocker) Yerk on September 2, 1961 in Belvidere, IL. Richard worked for the Belvedere Company and Sundstrand. Richard enjoyed bowling and playing softball, more recently he enjoyed listening to George Jones and working on his puzzle books.

 

Richard is loved and will be missed by his wife, Marjory Yerk; children, Ken Yerk, Jennifer (Vince) Kirane; sister, Becky (Willie) Goldsmith; grandchildren, Tasha Crotty, Bryan (Brittany) Crotty, Riley, Ellie and Devin Kirane. Richard is predeceased by his parents, step-father Maurice Langley, grandson Colin Kirane, sister Dixie Mae Yerk, and brother Skippy Rewoldt.

 

The family would like to give special thanks to Heartland Hospice for the loving and compassionate care shown to Richard.

 

Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday August 28, 2015 in Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services at Buck-Wheeler-Hyland Chapel, 218 W. Hurlbut Avenue, Belvidere, IL.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 29, 2015 with Rev. Pam Lojewski officiating.  Burial will be in Belvidere Cemetery.
