Patricia Ann Shelley Poffenberger, 71, passed away Sunday, December 6, 2015 with her loving family by her side. She was born May 6, 1944 in Horry County, South Carolina to Braxton and Christine (Ganis) Shelley.

Pat made a career of taking care of her family, especially her special needs daughter, Shelley. She also volunteered for Special Olympics and provided respite services for the disabled. Pat retired from Catholic Charities where she served as the Recreation Coordinator. She was a member of the Salvation Army Church in Janesville, WI.

Pat is survived by children, Mark (Nikki) Maurice, Billie (Jim) Denson, Jim (Sarah) Barfield, Shelley Putnam and stepdaughter Tanya (Dillon) Utzig; grandchildren, Abby and Maddi Maurice, Jessica and Jacob Denson, Taylor Barfield; step-grandchildren James and Brandon Poffenberger, Chris, Kim, Alex and Tabby Utzig; brother Carroll (Wanda) Shelley; sister-in-law Carolyn Shelley and many nieces, nephews and friends. She is predecease by her parents and brother Dan Shelley.

Memorial visitation will be held from 10 to 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 12, 2015 with a service at 11:00 a.m. at Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services, 218 W. Hurlbut Ave, Belvidere, IL 61008. Cremation rites have been accorded. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Salvation Army of Janesville, 514 Sutherland Box 898, Janesville, WI.
