Prayers to family and friends during this difficult time. I will remember Juan as a funny, family oriented man who enjoyed making people happy. I will miss his humor at the restaurant of which he made such a success.

Stopped by his restauraunt regularly when I still lived in Belvidere and made it a habit to stop in when I came to visit to see him . Was always a great place and a great guy. Will be missed, rip Juan.

I met Juan when he came to the shopping center in Belvidere, where his restaurant has been for many years. The first day he came with all his fixtures, which included two large tree trunks. He rolled them off the back of his pickup and into the new restaurant. He rolled them into two corners and then put large tables on top of each one. and then, seeing i was perplexed, he smiled and simply said they made good table bottoms. he was right. i think they are still there. Juan always had something positive to say and would sit with me and talk when i came to visit. He knew everyone who came to the restaurant by the end of their first visit. i am sure he could count them all as his friends. i will miss him. he will be missed by everyone. I pray that the Lord will continue to care for him now, (and know this to be true) just as Juan cared for others during his life time. it is an honor to call him my friend. Allan Hoekstra,

I am truly sorry for your loss. The pain the family goes through during a time like this seems unbearable. The bible however does provide us with comfort and hope. Isaiah 25:8 is an example, here God promises to swallow death forever and wipe th tears from all faces. To look forward to a time where we no longer have to face such a tragedy is certainly comforting. Again I am sorry for your loss.

I am so fortunate to have known Juan for all the laughs and good times that we had with him. And, of course, the free parking he always gave to me. Thoughts and prayers are with all of you!!
