I am so sorry to hear that John is gone. He was my best friend growing up in Roselle. When we were kids, he introduced me to fishing, baseball, shooting pellet guns and general outdoor mischief like jumping off rooftops into snowbanks. I'm so sad that he is gone, but when I think of him, it always brings a smile to my face. I'll always have wonderful memories of John. My condolences to the entire Coduto family.

I was very saddened to learn (just today) of John's passing. I worked with John until 1993 when I left to come to work in Colorado. I remember John as a courageous, ambitious, and compassionate Police Officer. More importantly, I remember him as a fierce family man and outdoorsman. I extend my sympathies to all of John's family and his BPD family as well.

John will always be a pleasing memory to me as I remember the many hours of working with him on the Police Department, taking videos of his competitions, his sheepish but content smile. John was a very pleasant person to be around and his disposition seemed to rub off onto many. Even though we had lost contact these past few years, I always get a warm feeling when I see John and the rest of the guys in my treasure of police department pictures. John, you will sorely be missed and my heart felt condolences to his immediate family as well as his paternal family. God Bless my friend. Rest in Peace.

I was so sorry to learn of John's passing. I first met him when he started with the BPD and I was the public defender for Boone County. As the years passed I had several opportunities to both interact with him in court and to observe him in public. He was an extraordinary police officer and a very good man.
