So saddened to hear of Jeffrey's passing. I knew Jeffrey and his family briefly, when he was seven years old. His kind and generous spirit was evident, even then. Although mourning the loss, I'm grateful to learn his life was one worth living. My condolences to all.

I worked with Jeff as a pastor at E-Free Church in Bloomington. He was a good man who loved his wife (still remember that great night at Destihl - just the four of us!)... and adored his daughter and son. All the staff at E-Free misses him a lot. A Celebration of Life service honoring Jeff will be held at E-Free on Friday, July 21st at 5:00pm. Dinner will be served afterwards at the church. 2910 E. Lincoln St. in Bloomington, IL.

He was always quick to send off a unique funny comment that only Jeff would come up with. I miss him greatly. I am so sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time.

Jeff was the Youth Pastor at the church that Mark and I attend also. I so much enjoyed Jeff. He is deeply missed and it will no longer be the same without him on this earth. My heart is extended to his sweet wife Christy; children, Donevan (Annie) Owens, Sarah Boose, and Justin Boose; his mother, Marsha Strang, his father, Milton (Beatrice) Boose, Jr.; and sister, Nicki Boose. I am so very sorry for your loss of a beautiful spirited committed man. I think of Jeff today and know without a doubt that because of JESUS in Jeff's heart and life that JEFF is more alive than we are this earth. He is celebrating completeness, fullness, and VICTORY in ETERNITY with Jesus this moment. Mark and I are here for you, should you just need a friend beside you in silence as you share your heart. “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me” (Psalm 23:4). How can one say Goodbye to someone you loved on this earth and now all you have is the empty chair to remember that person and their voice. My heart is with you.

The teens at E-Free watched as Pastor Jeff made special allowances the past couple years for my grandson, possibly putting his job on the line for the sake of this teenage boy he had only just met. But a boy who had just accepted Christ and so desperately needed Jeff`s special attention and acceptance. The sacrificial love this man displayed for this child became a life-lesson for not only my grandson but for teen peers and myself. To Jeff`s family, I thank you for so generously sharing your husband and father with the teens at E-Free. I will forever be grateful to him and you. My love and prayers are with you.

Words are not adequate to express the sense of loss when a man like Jeff passes on. I know I'm a better person for having had Jeff in my life. He left a piece of himself in every life he touched, every life he changed. My sons were beneficiaries of that love he shared so willingly. But for all he was to the rest of us, most importantly he was a father, a husband, and a man of God. While he has left this earthly existence he hasn't left you. He is in your hearts. He is alive in you. I pray you may take some comfort from that. I'm trying to.

Carla Smith posted on 7/13/17

My heart breaks for Jeff's family. I have family that attends Point Harbor Community Church. I was baptized there by Jeff when I was 15. He was so easy to talk too and when he wasn't cracking jokes, he was making me feel at ease about the water and continuously talking to me about Christ. He was a sweet, gentle soul who left us too soon. We will miss you Jeff and I will never forget you. I still have the certificate of baptism with a picture of both Jeff and I on it. It's something I hold near to my heart. Sending love and prayers to his family. ❤
