Gerald “Jerry” F. Fields, 66, of Belvidere, died Sunday, February 24, 2013 in OSF St. Anthony Medical Center. Born June 16, 1946 in Rockford; son of Merlin F. and Lillian Fields. Married Charlotte (Perkins) Schultz on October 7, 2011 in Belvidere. Worked in construction his entire life and was a member of the Teamster’s Union. He loved to go to auctions and enjoyed fishing.Survivors include his loving wife Charlotte; children Tory, Toni, and Jamie; several step-children; several grandchildren; and sister Barbara “Bobbi” Fields.Predeceased by his parents and one step-son.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the family.

Service Information

Funeral service 11 AM, Friday, March 1, 2013 in Buck-Wheeler-Hyland Funeral Home, 218 W. Hurlbut Ave., Belvidere with Rev. Rex Rogers, Pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial in Belvidere Cemetery. Visitation 5 to 7 PM, Thursday in the funeral home.

My condolences to the family. Gerald and I are cousins, my father and his were brothers, but as we lived our lives we had lost touch. By the way, his father for some reason added the "s" on the end of Field so a few in the Rockford area that have the last name of Field are relatives.Sincere Condolences for your loss,Connie Field-Otten
