I will always remember working with Don Pond at Hartzog Aviation! I worked there for seven years and then I got my first flying job (flying a Learjet for Amerock.) I remembered one winter when Don, Kevin Doggett, and I rode an Amtrak train out to Winter Park...and stayed there for six days skiing both downhill, and Cross-country skiing one day. I will always remember Don, and will always cherish my thoughts about him until I meet him again in Heaven when I leave this world... My thoughts and prayers go out to his family as they mourn his passing... ♥

We enjoyed our many years of vacation at Pelican Lake with the Johnson, Pond, and Schrader families. What fun we had! Terry also enjoyed talking with Donnie about flying and aviation maintenance. Our thoughts are with all of you.

I first knew of Don when we were both at the University of Illinois in 1969. Who would have known that we would both be working at Hartzog Aviaiton. He was dedicated to his work and an all around nice guy. I spent his last days with him at P.A. Peterson just talking and listening to his favorite music. He left this world as peacefully as he lived it. He was listening to Rachmaninoff as he slipped away to be with our Lord. Rest in Peace Don

I first met Don as an apprentice trying to learn my way around aviation. He showed me patience and taught me so much. I now use the skills he taught me to take support my family and I know I'm not the only one who can say that. My wife and I used to have so much fun with Don at the blues stage at the waterfront. It wont be the same this year. Thanks for everything Don. You will be greatly missed.

I have childhood memories of Don & his entire family coming to northern Wisconsin to visit. We had so much fun playing kids games, experiencing the outdoors & our farm, and family picnics. We visited in Belvidere about once a year. It was always great to see Donnie even if it was just for a day. The last time I saw him was about 6 years ago when he drove up for Gloria & Bruce's anniversary party. I would like to be there with you on Saturday but I just can't drive after dark on Labor Day weekend. Know that I am there in thoughts & prayers. Your cousin, Leona Vander Sanden
