Pat and family, Know that Dan meant so much to the Stephen Ministry group at Poplar Grove UMC. His wisdom and gentleness were without match. We will miss his quietness broken by his quick wit! The world has lost a good man, and heaven has gained a wise and gentle soul. May you feel the presence and comfort of the Holy Spirit as you move through the coming days.

I am so very thankful for having met Dan (and Pat) many years ago while they were here in Michigan. Both exceptionally brilliant people, while also humble, thankful, and a sincere pleasure to know .... I feel blessed to of met them. I enjoyed Dan's stories of their children and grandchildren (early in our relationship we always seemed to talk about the giant baby, (which I am afraid to ask is how old already? LOL) I am also thankful to have talked at length with Dan on the phone recently. Even while facing the inevitable he was a very stoic man, and I admired him and told him so. We shared a few laughs, and tears in that conversation, and I thanked him for being who he was. Pat my heart goes out to you, and your family in this time of sorrow, and I am sorry for your loss, everyone's loss of Dan, but recollect on the smiles, the laughs, the adventures and experiences that you've had, and know he will always live in your memories. He is at peace now and we will miss him. Sean Williams and sons

Our family's thoughts and prayers are with the Wilson Family. My own life has been made better by my friendship and association with him. Dan Wilson was a role model for people who serve the public; he was thorough and prepared, compassionate, sensible, sincere, and always kept his focus on the entire organization, Dan realized that people were more important than things.

Dan was such an example to his faith and confidence in the Lord! Always full of joy and positive. I was so glad to be able to reconnect with my cousin after many years. He will be missed! My prayers will be with you, Pat, as you adjust tot he new normal. It won't be easy, I can tell you from my experience, but the Lord will be with you. I was so sorry to hear of Dan's death. I know that fought so bravely against his illness for so long. I'm thinking of all of you and my prayers are with you. Dan was a pretty wonderful person and I am glad to have known him. I was able to talk to him at Sophie's concert last Christmas. He was very brave having gone through so much. I know that the faith your family has will help you get through all this. Pat, I am so sorry. I know what you are going through. Will talk to you soon. God bless you and your family. Love Peggy
