I have known Carol for a long time.... Lost touch when we moved away, but we both went to Logan Grade School as well as BHS... Class of *56. Know how active she was in her church having gone there several times when we visited our daughter. I never saw a frown on that pretty face, always smiling in times when she was going through chemo and pain. A lovely person .....

My deepest sympathy goes out to the family. I was blessed to have met Carol through her gracious and caring daughter. Even though I hardly knew Carol, she forever touched my life. When I was recently divorced, during the long and dreaded holiday season, I got a beautiful Thanksgiving card from Carol and her husband. As holidays were especially hard during those first few years that card was like a piece of gold for me. It brings tears to my eyes still these days knowing how much she cared. It was just what I needed to feel loved once again from someone who barely knew me. Carol randomly sent me other notes always knowing the perfect time. I was touched by the love of this genuinely caring lady. I am blessed to have known her. When my earthly tent withers away, I look forward to seeing Carol again. For we know that if the earthy tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands. 2 Corinthians 5:1

Jeff and I extend our deepest sympathy to you Max, Curt, Scott, Angie and families. Carol was such a GREAT neighbor as you all were. I had many good times at your home growing up. It was always fun to spend the night with Angie and Carol was the sweetest. So glad we were able to see you at my mom's 80th birthday party. She will be greatly missed. Prayers, Jeff & Penny Shewmon

May God's presence and peace be with you -- as they were with Carol. Yes, Carol's smile was so welcoming, so unforgettable; I knew from working together with her in Farm Bureau Women's Committee in 70s - 90s and in seeing her various times since. God will lead you on the unfamiliar paths and make rough places smooth (from Isaiah 42:16) Nova and George Quigley, Belvidere
