Obituary

Allen E. “Hoot” Noonan Jr., formerly a resident of McHenry IL, Crystal Lake IL, Merrimac WI and Prairie du Sac WI passed away on June 14th at the age of 97. He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Elaine in 2012.
Just some of his many accomplishments: Senior HS state tennis finalist, WWII US Army Corporal (19th Field Hospital), worked in father’s tavern and mother’s beauty shop for over 10 years, became an accountant via mail correspondence course (straight A’s) and had a successful public accounting business in McHenry for many years. In 1963 he married widow, Elaine, and cared for her 4 children, and he later had a daughter of his own. An avid golfer and fisherman, Al quit golfing at age 88 shooting a 78 (best score ever = 63 at McHenry Country Club). He had a great sense of humor and loved telling jokes and stories. And he was a Cubs fan!
A good man, the last of his crowd, he will be missed by 5 children, 10 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and the many excellent caretakers from Heritage Woods and Maple Crest Care Centre in Belvidere.
There will be no formal services, Al will be laid to rest beside Elaine at McHenry County Memorial Park in Woodstock, IL.

Though my heart is sad, I know His is glad, He is heaven bound. Also among his accomplishments was being my Godfather. Toni and the clan, I can only imagine the loss. My prayer is the Holy Spirit provides comfort until you know the joy of seeing him and your wonderful mom again.
