Shirley was my dear and treasured friend for over 30 years. She was caring and thoughtful and had a wonderful sense of humor that always brought a smile to my face. I will miss her terribly and will keep her in my heart forever. Love Christine.

55 years of friendship meeting through transatlantic Brides & Parents Association. Shirley was never “down” she always had a smile for her friends & very often a naughty joke. She & Wayne were always the life of the party & the room was filled with laughter moments after their arrival.
She will be greatly missed by so many people whose lives she touched.

Shirley was a dear friend for almost 40 years. She cuddled my children who now have children of their own. I will miss her warmth and sense of humor.

Dear Auntie Shirley, I remember how excited everyone used to get when you came back to England for visits. I even remember my Mum, your sister Phyllis, making my Dad redecorate the bathroom in your honour. And all those amazing cakes you taught us to make….and all the laughter and all the remembering. Dear Uncle Wayne (we still call you Joe), Sheree, Jenny and your own families…we are truly sorry that you have lost someone so dear, but you know she’ll never leave you and will always be nearby and happy to be with her beloved Mum and Dad and brothers and sisters. Goodbye Shirley. Thank you for being our Auntie, all love from Cathy, Minto, Jock and Kitty Lohoar XXX

For my lovely Auntie Shirley

You can shed tears that she is gone
or you can smile because she has lived.

You can close your eyes and pray that she will come back
or you can open your eyes and see all she has left.

Your heart can be empty because you can’t see her
or you can be full of the love you shared.

You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday
or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.

You can remember her and only that she’s gone
or you can cherish her memory and let it live on.

You can cry and close your mind,
be empty and turn your back

or you can do what she would want:
smile, open your eyes, love and go on.

Love and hugs to all of my American family…keep strong

Pam.
