Mildred J. Jepson, 88, of Cherry Valley, IL, passed away peacefully early Sunday morning, September 19, 2021, in her home. Mildred was born August 26, 1933, in Elgin, IL, the daughter of Reno A. and Florence E. (Wright) Davis. She married David C. Jepson Sr. on March 11, 1950, in Elgin, IL, and they had four children. In later years, she worked as a receptionist for several physicians’ offices. However, her first priority was caring for her husband and children, and she loved being a devoted grandmother and great-grandmother. Mildred made her spiritual home at Grace Reformed Baptist Church in Rockford, where she was very active. She had a beautiful singing voice, and she shared her love for music with family and friends throughout her life.

Mildred is loved and will be missed by her children, David Jr., Susan (Francis) Lenski, Daniel (Shari), and James (Carlene); grandchildren, Daniel, Mary, Eric, Tom, Emily, Ryan, Jacob, Brianna, Cassidy, and Trevor; great-grandchildren, Timothy, Elise, and Sage; nieces and nephews. Mildred is preceded in death by her parents; husband of 71 years, David; and brother, Reno Davis Jr. She is survived by her sister, Florence Zimmerman.

My sympathy to all the family. I lived near Sunny and her wonderful family when we were at Sheridan School. Some memories : her kid-sized cabin playhouse in the backyard when they lived on Porter St. (a little girl’s dream), her mom’s delicious “Bride’s Pudding”, going to Youth For Christ rallies at the Masonic Temple, and singing with her and a group of about 10 girls called the “Uni-singers”. Dave prepared our tax returns for many years. I had a chance to see your parents at the Sears Center 6 or so years ago when we both had grandchildren graduating from Larkin H.S. Again, my condolences to the family and treasure your memories.

Loved them and miss them both so much and am so jealous they are with our father son and Holy Spirit 😊 I cannot wait to be with them !! My heart goes out to all of you as I know how hard this is. Cousin Bill said it all in a nutshell, very well written.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. Me and lois were able to visit Dave And Sonny just a few years ago. After so many years they were so kind and served us lunch. We were so glad that we were able to visit with them this side of heaven. They followed grandma and grandpa and were the christian rocks of the siblings. Can’t wait to see them again. Once again they were parents and grandparents you all were blessed to have and should be proud of there lives they lived and the legacy they left in you. Bill lois Hannah Az

It was such a pleasure to spend time with Millie. We at CCS echo the previous sentiments, the angels are certainly rejoicing as they receive her home.
