Marjorie A. Hindert, 94, of Belvidere, IL, died peacefully March 31, 2021 at her home in Belvidere, surrounded by her family. She was born November 22, 1926 in Rockford, IL. Daughter of Kenneth and Tressa (Ganther) Weaver. She married Merrill Kenneth Linder, April 27, 1947 in Belvidere. He died December 6, 1961. Marjorie later married Bernard James Hindert October 15, 1977 in Belvidere. He died June 17, 1990. She graduated from West High School, Rockford, class of 1945. She took many classes through Rock Valley College. Marjorie worked at Boone State Bank, Calvary Baptist Church and St. Anthony Hospital. She was a previous member of Calvary Baptist Church where she was former church secretary, church clerk, Deaconess, Sunday School teacher, nursery worker, president of Missionary fellowship and served on many committees. She also served as treasurer of the church bookstore for many years. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church. Marjorie was also a charter member of Thomas G. Lawler post 342 Drum and Bugle Corps, where she played the snare drum and during the time they were placed second in the nation at Boston in 1946.
Marjorie was an Election Judge for many years. She belonged to Belvidere Woman’s Club, Y.M.C.A. where she participated in swimnastics. She was a member of Keen Age Center Auxiliary, Joy Walkers, and Scarlet O’Hatters Red Hat Society. Marjorie was also a Boone County Historical Society board member. She received the Community Service award in 2003. She enjoyed camping, gardening, traveling and spending time with grand and great-grandchildren.
She will be loved and dearly missed by her son, Kenneth Linder; daughters, Diane Alexander and Debra (Jack) Butenschoen; grandchildren, Krista Butenschoen and Kerri (Jay) Burnett; great-grandchildren Hazel and Elizabeth.
Marjorie is preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; sister, Virginia Duclon; brothers, Robert Weaver and Sgt. Curtis Weaver who was killed in Korea; son in-law, Robert Alexander; and special friend, Myra Emanuel.
A visitation will be from 9 to 10:45 a.m., Saturday, April 3 at Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services, 218 W. Hurlbut Avenue, Belvidere, IL.
The funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. and will be livestreamed on Marjorie’s obituary page at www.Andersonfcs.com. Pastor Jeremy Weary will officiate.
