She grew up in Janesville and had many happy memories of the days spent at Lyon’s Beach. She moved to Belvidere in 1968 and worked at Chrysler. LeAnne always had a talent for sewing. In high school she worked for Vera’s House of Bridals altering wedding dresses. Her love for sewing continued as she made clothes for her daughters when they were growing up, and did alterations for anyone who needed them.
She married her sweetheart, Terry King, July 18, 1998, in Belvidere. She retired from Chrysler in 2001, when she and Terry opened her sewing business, Kings Kreations. LeAnne continued to make alterations including Wedding & Prom dresses, along with keeping the students and staff of Belvidere Central Middle School in spiritwear. She passed her sewing talents on to her daughters and granddaughter.
