LaVerne William Konsdorf, 95, of Belvidere, went to be with the Lord on October 8, 2016. He was born on October 4, 1921, in Belvidere, IL, to William and Ella (Boettcher) Konsdorf. LaVerne graduated from Belvidere High School in 1941 and proudly served from 1941-1945 in the Army Air Force, serving in the China-Burma-India Theater of World War II. He was united in marriage on December 1, 1946, to Marguerite Jean Schlottman, who survives. He is also survived by his four children: Sally (Kenneth) Hartman, Lynne (Michael) Ernster, Lisa (Dennis) Johnson, and William (Debbie) Konsdorf. Loving Grandpa of seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Predeceased by his parents, a son-in-law Timothy Draper, a grandson Jeremy Draper, and a brother Donald Konsdorf. He leaves behind his beloved pet, Kitty.
LaVerne retired from the United States Postal Service in 1976. He was a member and past president of the Boone County Gardeners of America, a member of the American Legion Boone Post #77, and a charter member of the Northern Illinois Botanical Society, having served on the Budget/Site Committee. He was a faithful member of Immanuel Lutheran church in Belvidere, IL, having served on many boards and in many volunteer positions.

Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1045 Belvidere Road, Belvidere, IL 61008 with Rev. Allan Buss officiating.
