Jarrett Michael Powell

Obituary

Jarrett Michael Powell, 29, of Belvidere, IL was taken from us too soon on November 8, 2020 in Marengo, IL. Jarrett was born on July 9, 1991 to Martin Powell and Laura (Pyrcioch) Durham. Jarrett graduated from Belvidere North Highschool and shortly after, began working as a diesel mechanic and then started working for Johnson Paving as a Teamsters Union Truck Driver. Jarrett loved riding his motorcycle and driving diesel trucks, but especially his orange pickup truck. He liked to shoot guns, drink Busch Light, play slot machines, and host barbecues and cookouts. Jarrett was selfless and would drop everything just to help anyone in need, day or night. He will always be remembered for his heart of gold and contagious smile.

Jarrett will be dearly missed by his father, Martin Powell; mother, Laura Durham; step-brothers, Erick and Kyle (Alyssa); step-sister, Kendra; grandparents, Ed and Shirley Pyrcioch; girlfriend, Ashley Adams; step-grandmother, Elvira Powell; Great aunt, Teena Bohrer, niece, Carly; 2 aunts; numerous cousins; his furbabies, Gunner and Ruger; and a copious amount of friends who were his chosen family.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Harry Powell and grandmother, Ellen Lindstrom.
