The Whalen Family,
As days go by, may your sorrows turn into happy memories. Hugs and Prayers to all.

We lived across Jefferson street from the Whalen family and I remember Dutch very well. A lot of memories of him as a policeman, mayor and neighbor. He had a large family of his own but always seemed to have time for his community. A great guy and community leader – he will be missed. Our thoughts and prayers to his family.

Dutch was a friend and I’ll miss him. He gave me my first temporary appointment on the Belvidere Fire dept. when he was mayor. Last saw him on our way to the boundary waters when Mike and I stopped and visited back in September. He was a tired old man but still Dutch Whalen of old inside. He said make Mike clean all the fish and cook them and we did. God Bless him and all his family. Your Pal Percy “Gordy” Gordon
