Obituary

Dorothy Rehn, 91, of Belvidere IL, passed away peacefully, February 3, 2017 at Serenity House in Oregon, IL. Born July 9, 1925 in Belvidere IL, daughter of Harold and Emma “Minnie” Gustafson. Dorothy would marry the love of her life, Kenneth B. Rehn on February 16, 1946 in Belvidere, IL. She would go on to live her life as a home maker where she lovingly took care of her three children. Dorothy through her life was passionate about her time as a foster mother, 4H leader and baking cookies and cakes with her grandchildren. She was a faithful member of Zion Lutheran Church where she made her spiritual home. Most importantly Dorothy loved God and her family.

Dorothy is loved and will be missed by her children, Dennis (Deborah) Rehn, Jon (Crystal) Rehn, Patricia (Paul) Rehn-Forrest; grandchildren, Andrew Rehn, Katie Rehn, Sarah Rehn, Molly (Nick) Kisling, Megan McDonald, Alyssa Rehn, Stephen (Carol) Forrest and great-grandchild James Forrest; brother, Donald (Nancy) Gustafson and sister-in-law Eunice Corson. She is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth and parents.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, February 10, 2017 in Zion Lutheran Church, 1300 Pearl St, Belvidere, IL 61008 with Rev. Scott Stolberg officiating, with a visitation one hour before.  A Visitation will be held from 5:00p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services, 218 W. Hurlbut Ave, Belvidere, IL.
