Donald “Dick” E. Campbell passed away on May 23, 2021 after a long illness. Donald was born in Dodgeville, Wisconsin on December 2, 1939 to Frank and Anna Campbell. He met Nancy Mayfield and they wed in Richland Center, Wisconsin on August 15, 1964. In January 1965 they moved to Illinois where Dick joined his brothers in line work. Donald was a Heavy Equipment Operator for Local 196 and most notably worked for Thorne Electric in Wheaton, Illinois for many years until he retired. He always enjoyed the Friday night fish fry at the Moose Lodge in Harvard, Illinois and had just earned the lifetime member status.
Surviving him are his wife Nancy of 55 years; his 2 daughters, Carol (Jason) McCollum of Poplar Grove, Connie (Vince) Cooke of Poplar Grove; 8 grandchildren, Mallory (Mike) Schulte, Macy Mikrut, Steavy (Mike) McCormick, Stephen Mikrut, Carson McCollum, Gunnar, Griffin and Alexandra Cooke; 2 great grandchildren, Layla McCormick and Jaxson Schulte; brother-in-laws, Curtis Gullick of Wisconsin, John Mars of Michigan, David (Barb) Mayfield of Wisconsin; sister-in-laws are Sharon (Gordon) Pfanku of Alabama, Marilyn (Ronald) Schmidt of Wisconsin, Marylou (Donald) Bingham of Wisconsin. Dick is preceded in death by his parents and all 12 of his brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be 10:00-11:45 a.m., Friday, July 16, 2021 at Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services, 218 W. Hurlbut Ave., Belvidere, IL 61008.
